Module 1 - Mapwise

- Experienced teachers
- NQT’s
- AST’s
- Mentors
- Learning/ teaching assistants
Any practitioners looking to move to a more powerful and effective way of using visual tools, beyond current superficial methods.
What is it?
MapWise is the first module of our two part Model Learning for Teachers programme
MapWise teaches you how to systematically integrate model mapping into both your professional and personal practices. Becoming ‘MapWise’ positively impacts multiple agendas and outcomes. Click on outcome areas below to explore outcomes achieved.
MapWise reveals why organising thoughts is the key to successful learning for all learners irrespective of gender, age, learning style or ability and gives you the ‘inside story’ of learning, revealing what the mental, internal act of learning actually looks like.
You will gain a deeper understanding of why some pupils fail and some succeed. And we’ll give you the tools you need to help all pupils succeed in their learning.
What will I get out of it?
New skills in using model mapping that go far beyond the limitations of simple mind mapping.
The ability to use model maps pervasively and systematically to positively impact all the outcome areas shown above.
Clear and precise methods and strategies to enhance all stages of the learning and teaching process.
In short better teaching and better learning with increased control over your thinking, planning and classroom practice.
Greater satisfaction in what you do and less stress!
Some educators make the mistake of believing that using visual tools is another initiative to implement. They are simply wrong. When used pervasively and effectively visual tools remain the single and most effective means to improving all aspects of teaching and learning. Click here to read more.
