Hurworth School in Darlington has developed the Assertive Mentoring system over the last 10 years. During this time GCSE results (5+ A*-Cs) have improved from 38% in 1998 to 95%in 2009. These figues are 30% to 72% when you include English and Maths.

Eamonn Farrar is Hurworth's Chief Executive and originator of the Assertive Mentoring system. Always keen to distinguish the effective from the fashionable, Eamonn has spent 30 years developing his ideas and systems of leadership. He has now put them together in a new course, Strong Leaders.

Through Working Solutions, a partnership with Model Learning, Hurworth are now making available their nationally acclaimed system to all secondary schools.

Model Learning manage and co-ordinate all events on behalf of Hurworth, including public conferences, workshops and bespoke Local Authority events.
